Webinar: Current state of digital health solutions: Introducing a mobile-only approach to heart health monitoring

This webinar was held on January 25, 2022.

Advances in digital health and mobile technology provide a major opportunity to broaden the reach of health care to at-risk individuals.

In this webinar led by CardioSignal’s Chief Medical Officer Tero-Pekka Alastalo, we review the current state of digital health solutions in early detection of heart disease. As the population ages, atrial fibrillation (AF) alone is predicted to affect 6–12 million people in the USA by 2050 and 17.9 million in Europe by 2060. With heart disease numbers only rising, we are facing a health and economic problem described as an epidemic by researchers and physicians around the world.

Digital health solutions have the potential to dramatically improve patient care and slow rising costs. Yet achieving scalability has obstacles as there are no technologies available for effective and scalable screening in risk populations.

Webinar objectives:

  • Review the current state of digital health solutions and their benefits and challenges from primary care perspective

  • Introduce a motion sensor technology that utilizes modern smartphone technology

  • Give an overview of clinical studies and clinical validation of gyrocardiography technology

  • Present data from current user base of the technology

  • Evaluate the capabilities of gyrocardiography in other major heart disease
